I recently had solar panels installed on my house. What an exciting day it was! Take a look….
The men arrive with 30 solar panels. The panels collect the sun’s energy in the wires that run through the panels.
The panels turn the sun’s energy into electrical energy.
The electricity made by my panels is sold back to Orange & Rockland Electric Company, reducing my electric bill each month. I like the idea of saving money!
Even more important, I’m reducing my “carbon footprint”. If I can create electricity from the sun, then the electric company doesn’t have to burn so much coal to create electricity for me. Burning coal puts pollution (carbon dioxide and other harmful gases) into the air. Less coal burned = cleaner air! 🙂
Air pollution is trapping the sun’s heat near Earth. It’s making the planet warmer. While that might seem appealing during the winter, it’s upsetting the balance of nature. For more information on global warming, click here.
It’s good to know that there’s something we can do to help reduce air pollution and slow down global warming.
Looking at the bar graph above, you can see the number of kilowatt hours of electricity my solar panels generated in July. Can you tell which days were bright and sunny? Which days were overcast?
I had no idea that when you get solar panels can lower your electrical bill that’s so cool!
Solar Panels help the world, and I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t use them. They help slow down climate change, making the world a better place. Everyone should get them!
I should get those solar panals they are probably helpful
I learned that you can save electricity by buying sa solar panel and save money I am going to tell my mom and dad to buy them.
I learned that solar panels are saving the planet and gives a huge portion of your electricity. I thought that they only did a small portion of electricity. 🙂
thoses solar panals are very helpful for energy
When I get older i will definitely get solar panels, im glad that they exist, we really need to lower the CO2 in the world!
When i’m an adult I would love to have solar panels on my roof! In my opinion they are the best way to generate energy without creating more air pollution. It makes the Earth so much better.
If people can save money and the earth, why doesn’t everybody have this.
Solar panels are a great way to save money. It’s so cool how the electricity owes you money and how much money you can save if you get solar panels.
if everyone used solar power maybe poverty and problems due to limited amounts of money wouldn’t be such a problem and there would be more money to go around.
Solar panels are a great way to save energy. It helps slow down climate change, which is important. Were the solar panels worth it or were they not a big deal?
Wow it is so cool that you save money with solar panels
I think it is a awesome idea to have solar panels on your roof. I would like to use solar panels.
