how is it in africa is it very different
Hi Mir! That is a very big question! There are many different countries in Africa, so let me focus on the country of South Africa. Many parts of this country are very poor. They have a difficult history as different groups struggled for power. The country also has much natural beauty. Remember the video Ms. Sono showed? We have seen some of those sights – the lovely beaches and the waves hitting against high cliffs, for example. I really love living close to the ocean. Actually, my home looks out over False Bay, which leads out to the Atlantic Ocean. The bay is very big – over 20 miles across. The animals here are also very different from the ones we have in North America. In the northern part of this country they have lions, zebras, and the other animals I saw while on safari in Tanzania. Down here in Simon’s Town we have other wild animals, like baboons, mongooses, and ostriches. I may have to keep my back door closed so the mongooses don’t come in, but at least I don’t have to worry about lions!
how long are you going to be there
Hi Megan. I’ll be here in South Africa until July.
