Creaturizer Poetry

Creaturizer is a free app from PBS Kids that lets students create fun cartoon-like creatures. Students are then tasked to imagine their creature’s needs (what the eat, where they hide, where they fly and where they nest) by placing them into an indoor or outdoor setting through the use of augmented reality. Watch the video below to learn how to use the creaturizer app.

Once you have created your creature and completed your photo mission, you will write a haiku poem about your creature!

I am first with five
Then seven in the middle β€”
Five again to end

Haiku poetry is a form of Japanese poetry that is non-rhyming and normally consists of 3 lines with a syllable pattern of 5-7-5. Haiku poems are usually inspired by an element of nature, a season, a moment of beauty or an individual experience or event. Today, you will use the creature you created to inspire your haiku poem! Have FUN!

My creature is small
With her small wings she can fly
Her tail is so cute
