Mystery State: Which State Is It?

Students will receive one set of four clues per week for the month of March. Clues will be given Monday thru Thursday. Who will be the first one to figure out the Mystery State each week? Will it be you?
Deadline for weekly submission Friday by 2:30 pm

The Mystery State quiz will help students learn about the 50 states as it improves their research skills!

Check this page every day and each week for clues to post! You can pick up an answer slip at the circulation desk in the library!
Week One
March 6th clue:The term dude originated in this state.
March 7th clue: This state was the first state to grant women the right to vote.
March 8th clue: This state’s license plate features a man on a bucking bronco.
March 9th clue: The state flower is Indian Paintbrush.

Week Two
March 13th clue: This state is located in the north-central United States.
March 14th clue: This state does not host any major league professional sports franchises.
March 15th clue: Part of this state is called “the Badlands.”
March 16th clue: Mount Rushmore, on which the faces of U.S. presidents Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Theodore Roosevelt are carved, is in this state.

Week Three:
March 20th clue: This state is the top producer of apples in the United States.
March 21st clue: This state is the home of Mount St. Helen’s, a semi-active volcano that erupted in 1980.
March 22nd clue: This state has the world’s longest floating bridge.
March 23rd clue: This state is the only state named after a U.S. president.

Week Four
March 27th clue: This state was named after an English duke.
March 28th clue: The first railroad in the United States was constructed in this state.
March 29th clue: Five states -Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania – border this state.
March 30th clue: You can find the Statue of Liberty in this state.
