I agree Nicholas, because Attean could teach me how to capture a rabbit without putting a bullet hole through it. Attean has a village so if I was ever left alone and I needed a family I could ask him if I could stay in his village and live in a wigwam. Attean could show me how to hunt for food. My final reason why I would want to have Attean for my friend is because Attean treats Matt like family and if I were all alone I would want someone there to scoop me up when I’m feeling down. Those are the reasons why I would choose Attean as my friend in the book “The Sign Of The Beaver” by “Elizabeth George Speare”.

I agree if I were Matt and Attean didn’t teach me the skills to hunt I would feel very scared and afraid. Mostly because if Attean didn’t teach me how to hunt something to eat I would have a list of what could happen to me by myself. #1 on my list would be starve to death. I wouldn’t feel safe to go out by myself. What may happen? I don’t know. I would probably die if I were to walk out of the house alone. All I would have is the gun I stole from my father. I would probably die even if I didn’t steal the gun and if I were with or without a family. This is probably what would happen to Matt if Attean was not there to help him.

If I were Matt I don’t know if I would react the same way if my father told me that he would leave me alone ,by myself for six weeks I would probably break down in tears. Especially if my dad said the same thing to me as Matt’s father said to him. I would break down in tears if my father said that to me because Matt’s father said “I will be back in six weeks maybe seven we don’t know”. That is why I wouldn’t react the same way as Matt.

After reading the book “Crash” by Jerry Spinelli I learned a life lesson, that life lesson is people change and you have to except that. In the beginning of the book Crash says that Webb is “dorking up the sidewalk” and Crash is being a bully to him throughout most of the book. Yet the last sentence in the book is “Penn Webb is my best friend.” Another reason I think the life lesson in this story is people can change is when Crash really liked Jane in the middle of the book and then when Crash saw Jane helping Penn, Crash got really jealous and didn’t feel the same way about her anymore.
This is why I think the life lesson in the story “Crash” by Jerry Spinelli is In life, people can change and you have to except that.
