Throwback from Ms. Eyer’s Library Critical Thinking Challenges: A Walk in the Rain with a Brain

 

This short video introduces students to the powerful idea that taking on challenges can grow and strengthen their brains, and that they have the power to make their brains stronger every day.

Explore this book and discuss cerebral anatomy they will better understand that “each brain finds it’s own special way.”

The brain asks for her help in finding his way home and, on their walk, Lucy expresses her belief that she isn’t very smart. Fred, the brain, explains that everyone is smart but just in their own unique ways.
In order to find a partner, students will use mindset quote puzzles. Once their partner is found, the pair will discuss their quote and share out the meaning of the quote to the whole group.
