Last week we watch a video that explained how schools in NYC sort their cafeteria recycling and trash by setting up sorting stations. Watch the video below is you didn’t get to see it before.
We got a lot of really good ideas!
- create a poster to display on every lunch table reminding kids to recycle (thank you Aria)
- meet with John, the cafeteria staff and all the aides who help monitor lunch so that we can all be “On the Same Page!”(thank you Brady)
- invite the town official to discuss exactly how SOCSD should sort the recycling (thank you Heidi)
- create signs which will be put on sticks and attached to individual recycling bins to remind students and teachers, “What goes, where!” (thank you Dylan)
- create videos explaining how to pack a waste free lunch (thank you Maggie)
- create video how to use the sorting stations (thank you Chelsea)
- create a video to demonstrate “What is trash?” (thank you Kieran)
- create a video to show how to sort water bottles by size (thank you Zoe)
We are gaining interest with increasing numbers of students who are willing to get up early n a Tuesday to help “Make A Difference” in our school community and the greater community we call Earth.
Earth Day Every Day..How will you make a difference?Β
