Individually or with a partner, first grade students will select and find ANY four to six books and second grade students will select ANY six to eight books from the “Scavenger Hunt” list above. As each book is selected and found, a shelf marker will be used to hold a book’s place while the students take a photograph of the book’s cover using an iPad. When a student has pictures of the appropriate number of books, they will use the iPad App, “Pic Collage” to make a collage of the book covers.
Students will email me their final collages, which will be printed, posted and shared in the library.
How to use Pic Collage:
- Use the iPad camera to take pictures of the “Scavenger Hunt” books you selected.
- Open the PicCollage app.
- Touch the screen to make a new collage.
- Tap the screen to see the main menu.
- Tap the mountain. Choose camera roll.
- Tap your photos and tap the blue check to add them to your collage.
- Use the tools in PicCollage to make the collage look amazing.
- When your PicCollage looks great, email your final project to me: peyer@socsd.org
