The Dream Big, Build Bigger enrichment course is for second grade students ONLY. This course will last for 8 weeks. The course will be held every Thursday, beginning January 21st ending March 10th, in the Library Media Center. You must commit to ALL 8 weeks. ONLY the first 20 students registered will be accepted. Those 20 students will receive an email confirming their enrollment in the enrichment course.
About the course:

Strawbees is such a simple thing that you will be amazed at what can be built! Created by the swedish designer Erik Thorstensson and launched as a successful kickstarter campaign, a Strawbee is a simple small piece that allows the connection of standard straws or cardboard to each other. One straw after the other, we will build amazing mechanical objects that will be the envy of any engineer.

Essentially, Stawbees are a low-tech version of the TinkerToys I played with as a kid! The educational experience of designing and prototyping complex structures lies beneath the facade of Strawbee play! Watch the video below to see what tinker toys are and how similar they are to Strawbees!
