This week in library we will read Penelope Popper, Book Doctor by Toni Buzzeo. 
The charming book trailer below features Penelope Popper who, despite her young age, longs to be a doctor. Not until her wise teacher and her savvy librarian join forces does Penelope get the opportunity, as a book doctor, to heal books that have been poorly treated.
At the end of the story, Penelope Popper, Book Doctor, knows everything there is to know about taking good care of library books!
Using a basket of damaged books and numbered colored circles, students will test their skills by matching the numbered circle that corresponds to the book care rule that was broken.
