I would be friends with Mario because down in the subway it gets really lonely and he really doesn’t have a lot of friends because he works in the subway and never has time to make friends, so I would be his friend so he doesn’t need to stay down there all by himself. I also would say it will be all ok if he only sold 2 newspapers and 1 Sundays paper on Sunday. That is why I would be friends with Mario in the story.

I agree with you Kaley because of your statements of the story. In the story ” The Cricket In Time Square” by George Selen he helps me understand the characters by describing the setting and the characters. One reason is in the beginning when he said that his name was Tuker and that he was a mouse and he lived in a sewage pipe in the subway and he saw everything that went on down there . This helps me understand the setting and the characters because if he left that small part out I would have not now a lot of things like who he is and where he is and where his home is. I can tell when it takes place because now we rarely have newspaper stands in the subways now they are food stands in there place. All and all as you can see why the beginning of the story helps me understand the characters and what will or will not happen in the story.

After reading the book “The Tale Of Deperux” by Kate Dicamillo Desperux responded to difficulty in so many ways but I will tell you some . One way is when the princess was took into the “basement” he had some difficulty but he got thought it and made it to the princess . My evidence is Desperux had to go to the “basement” and he met some bad rats but he found the princess and got out . The last way is when Desperux was in the “basement” he met a mean rat but he was up to no good so Desperux got tricked by his clever ways so he tried to kill him but it was a big obstacle and a very difficulty for him he got over it. My next evidence is Desperux must have had to be very clever and witty to get out of this difficulty quagmire in the story. This is how Desperux respond to difficulty in the story.

After reading the story The Tale Of Despereaux by Kate Dicamillo I would try to save the princess too. The first reason is that she would do the same for Desperaux or (me), for example when Desperaux met the princess he thought she was pretty, and when the princess saw him she thought that he might be a nice mouse so she started to hang out with him. My final reason is when everyone hates mice, but pea still likes them because she thinks there nice, for instance when her mother died they all but pea started to hate mice but it is so sad that pea doesn’t know about her how her mother died from that rat Rosuro ( He really must be dark.) so so sad that she doesn’t know how her mother died. That is why I think that I would save the princess too!
