In the video below you will learn how to use one of Google’s creation tools, Google Earth. For this task you will create a tour  and travel from either your home address or the Tappan Zee High School address and end in a Spanish speaking destination of your choice. Once you arrive at your destination city, you will go to the airport, a hotel and two landmarks. You will identify were you are and record a narration about what you are doing at each place.

For example, you might travel from TZHS to Mexico City, land in Benito Juarez Airport, check into the hotel, and visit el Palacio Nacional as well as La casa azul.

Your Google Earth tour should reflect identifying photos and videos. *Remember to use the required tense when describing and narrating your specific locations.

This Google Earth project offers a rich experience allowing the exploration of a 3D world in order to learn a lot more about specific places of interest. Use this checklist to guide your work:

  • I wrote an introductory sentence about the Spanish speaking destination I selected.
  • I have five places featured.
  • I have five photos/videos representing each place.
  • I have two to three sentences about each place in the required tense.

Together, we will model and create the first stop of your tour. Click HERE to launch Google Earth.

When the project is complete we will have a  “Gallery Walk”.  A “Gallery Walk” is an activity that allows you, the student, to discuss and display your final work around the classroom much like artists would display their artistic pieces in an “exhibit.”

Use SpeakPipe Voice Recorder to narrate your project! Watch the brief tutorial below.
