Information is immediately accessible today, thanks to the range of websites, news resources, and social media platforms available to students. This means it’s more important than ever to evaluate information with a critical lense and to make sure that we’re gathering information from trusted sources.
The video below walks us walks through the basics of evaluating a website to find quality information. It encourages us to evaluate websites in the way an editor would review an article. Because there is no editorial control over the content of the Internet, you must examine closely the intent or purpose of the websites you are evaluating. 

Many of us have been introduced to the C.R.A.A.P. test. Applying the C.R.A.A.P. test to determine a sources Credibility, Reliability, Authority, Accuracy and Purpose allows you to be your own gatekeeper for the sources you find and the information you read. Once you get in the habit of using the C.R.A.A.P. evaluation tool you will be better able to make your own projects the best they can be.
