C-SPAN Classroom is a free membership service for social studies teachers. Their mission is to enhance the teaching of social studies through C-SPAN’s primary source programming and websites.

With many classes moving to online formats, C-Span removed the log-in and password requirements for all of our lesson plans and bell ringers on the C-SPAN Classroom website. You and your students are now able to access any resource on the site, including those that were previously behind the login wall. With this new option, you can share direct links to those resources via email, social media or within your content management systems.

You are still able to create an account or log in if you would like to bookmark content and organize content in folders but we hope that removing this obstacle allows you and your students to more easily utilize our resources on whatever learning platform that you are using.

Searching for C-SPAN Classroom Resources

C-SPAN Classroom has over 5,000 free video-based resources for teachers and students to use. Our resources include topics such as civics, U.S. history, world history, economics and geography. Teachers can search through our resources using keywords, topics, grade level and content type.

In addition to searching our collection of lessons and other resources, we have also organized content by various topics and themes on our Featured Resources Site. From Campaign 2020 resources, to A.P. Government and Politics content, and chronological listings of our U.S. History resources, this page may offer a simple way to start your search of our library of available resources.

Below is just a sample of the topics found on the Featured Resources Site.

C-SPAN’s Education Relations team provided a walk through of the various educational resources for teachers and students found on the free C-SPAN Classroom website at www.c-span.org/classroom. Watch the Classroom Resource Video HERE.

If you have any questions about using these resources in the classroom or how to access specific material, please ask me.
