What Makes A Friend?

We've been learning about character traits this week.  Think about someone you consider a good friend.  Tell us who it is (no last names!) and either:

  • two traits that make the person a good friend, with ONE piece of evidence for each trait, OR
  • one trait that makes the person a good friend, with TWO pieces of evidence for that trait.

Here is a list of traits to consider.

New Year’s Resolutions!

Here's your last Blog Challenge of 2010!

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve.  Many people like to make New Year's Resolutions, promises to make themselves better in the coming year.  Some people resolve to improve their health by exercising more or eating better foods.  Other people promise to stop bad habits.  Sometimes people resolve to learn something new, like a language or a musical instrument.

So, what's your New Year's Resolution?  It could be for home or school!

Welcome to Personal Narrative!

We're starting an exciting new unit this week: Personal Narrative Writing.  This is one of my favorite units, because everyone has a story!

Think about the story of your life.  Do you remember the other day when we listed people who make us feel happy?  Reply to this post and share a story of a time when someone made you feel good about yourself.  It can be a family member, a friend, a teacher, or even a pet!

Try to write about 40-50 words (that's less than you think!)  I can't wait to read your memories!
