Dear SOMS Parents and Guardians,

Here is just a little bit about me. I have been with the South Orangetown School District for 34 of my 35 years teaching music. Over the years, I have taught many different areas of music at every school in the district with the exception of TZE. My main school has always been SOMS where I took over the band program in 1987. There were 35 students in the band that year. Now the program has close to 150 students and continues to grow. Currently, I continue to direct the band program.

I feel very fortunate to have a job that I love to come to every day!  It is wonderful to have the opportunity to help students develop their musical potential and expand their knowledge of music. In helping students reach their goal, there is always something new happening. It can be a student who finally makes a breakthrough in band class or lessons. It can be the progress of the entire band over time. It can be solving a problem and being able to move forward. There are so many things.

I look forward to working with all of you to make this a great year for all band students  at SOMS.
