About Mrs. Shaw

Victoria Shaw is a native New Yorker, having spent twenty-five years working in the field of social work, counseling and education. Victoria earned a BS degree in education from S.U.N.Y Cortland, followed by a MS degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from CW Post at Long Island University. Victoria's career began in Germany working for the United States Government as a drug and alcohol therapist. Once back in New York Victoria was employed by Nyack Hospital as a program director and behavioral therapist, where she helped develop and implement a Wellness Program, which included a nationally recognized weight loss program. As an outgrowth of this she subsequently incorporated her own business called "Keep It Off", a comprehensive program to encourage wellness and healthy life styles. Her passion for working with adolescents lead her to become a health educator for South Orangetown Central School Distinct in Orangetown NY. Sensing the need to involve students, parents and community, Victoria co-founded and is currently a co-director of a Drug and Alcohol Task Force called South Orangetown Community Awareness of Substance Abuse, SOCASA. SOCASA has been incorporated as a non-profit organization.

Over the years Victoria has been a motivational speaker, life coach, public educator, grant writer, business owner, and therapist. Her communication and motivational skills, high energy level, and passion to work with and help others has allowed her great success.
