Movies are a great resource that enable students to understand concepts without barriers that may hinder learning. Just like books, movies allow students insight into the lives of different characters, how their perspective differs and how they handle certain situations. Below is a list of resources I hope you will find useful. 

 

 

  • Discovery Education: You will need to use the code  EA9E-A83F / TAPPAN ZEE HIGH SCHOOL to create an account … this is for the TZHS TEACHERS ONLY Once created, you can log in with the username and password you created. Once created, teachers can create student accounts and add them to classes using the Classroom Manager.   • PBS Nova: Watch entire NOVA episodes online, divided by topic like body and brain, nature, evolution, planet earth, and ancient worlds.
  • National Geographic Video: Many video shorts of Natl. Geographic programs can be found here.
  • Prelinger Archives: Thousands of free educational movies of historical significance.
  • PBS Frontline: Most of PBS Frontline’s broadcasts can be watched in their entirety online.
  • Edutopia: From George Lucas Educational Foundation, this is a great collection of highly eclectic educational resources. These videos are also available from their YouTube channel.
  • Free Science Videos: General science and computer science videos can be found here.
  • ScienceHack: Educational science videos screened by scientists that cover topics like robotics, psychology, space, nature, chemistry, and physics.
  • Vidipedia: Educational videos from YouTube covering geography, technology, culture, nature, science, and history.
