The second grade students have finished their realistic fiction unit in ESL. Over the past few weeks, we have discussed story characters and their physical/personality traits. In addition, we created our own fictional character that we could use in our realistic fiction stories. The students worked in groups to create their characters and various problems they would face in their stories. The students had a great time writing and creating illustrations. Eliana, Jefferson and Christian have just finished writing their nonfiction book “All About Dolphins.” The students worked extremely hard researching, writing, and editing their informational book. Each student completed a different section of the book and collaborated with their group members to put the final product together. Once the book was finished, the students also reflected on their experience. We hope you enjoy reading their book and you learn something new about dolphins!
