We've started multiplication!
Multiplication is all about equal groups. Many things in real life come in sets. For example, you have two eyes, two hands, two feet, etc. What else comes in twos?
For each number 2-12, try to think of something that comes in sets of that number. Try to think of something different than what has already been written. (Hint: some numbers will be a lot harder than others.)
2 – 2 doors on your refrigerator
3 – buttons on a snowman
4 – four stockings hanging on our fireplace
5 – bananas in a bunch
6 – 1/2 dozen bagels
7 – pieces of gum in a pack
8- pieces in a pizza pie
9- kids on my sisters bus
10- pieces in my board game
11- levels in my video game
12 – eggs in a carton
I have 2 hands, 3 drawers in my desk, 4 wheels on a car, 5 sides on a house, 6 windows on my door, 7 apples in our house, 8 windows on a cabinet, there are 9 stripes on my gecko, I have 10 fingers on my hands and 3 Thumbed Joe has 11 fingers, and 12 eggs in a carton.
