This story reminds me of going to my grandmother’s house in Pennsylvania when I was little. Sometimes all my aunts, uncles, and cousins were there, too, so there weren’t enough beds. We all crowded into the porch on cots and sleeping bags, just like the cousins in the story. The kids would stay up late talking and giggling. It was a fun and happy time.

This story reminds me of when I went to the circus with my Mom and my brother. We both got to choose to ride a pony or a camel. I got to ride a pony. In the book Julie got to ride a horse. IT WAS FUN FOR BOTH OF US ! When Julie was on her horse she fell off. When I was on my pony I did not fall off. My brother also got to ride on a pony. I giggled a little.

Percy is always feeling scared and everyone has or will feel scared in their life. For example when Percy was about to get killed well, do you think he was scared?! Well when I was on a rollercoaster at Hershey Park I was very scared but while it was actually happening it was quite fun. And when Mr. D saved Percy and the guards were slapping themselves in the face Percy thought it was quite funny. My difference was that he felt that it was funny and I felt that it was fun.

Tittle: Afternoon on the Amazon

In the book Afternoon on the Amazon Jack and Annie got attacked by a jaguar . That part of the story reminds me of the time when I was playing whith my dog named Kovu. I was only 3 years old at that time. I stepped on his tail by accident and he jumped and bit me right on the left side of my mouth. BLOOD started to gush down my mouth. My mom and dad rushed me to the emergency room. My mom and dad told me that I was crying a lot when the doctor was putting 5 stiches in my upper lip. Today, I remember the accident, but not the pain.

My dog red had surgery, he was lying on the bed. He looked dead. The situation made me feel scared and upset. It reminded me of when I was reading Julie of the Wolves. Amaroq the alpha wolf died. The hunters killed him from a plane.

In the book, the little boy, Georgie, had a loose tooth. He ran around asking everyone how he should get his tooth out. Everybody told him a different way from biting an apple to tying a string to it. In first grade, I had MY first loose tooth. I also asked everyone how to get my loose tooth out. Everyone told me a different way as well. At the end of the story, Georgie finally asked his mom about his loose tooth. Just like my mom, she said, “You don’t have to do anything, your tooth will come out all by itself”.
And it did!!

This story reminds me of when I went to the Bear Mountain Zoo and saw two bears fighting. In the book Kallik and Ujarik were fighting over a squirrel they both wanted to eat. Ujarik scratched Kallik on the neck . He was bruised and bleeding and lost his grip and Ujarik won. At the zoo the bears were fighting over a ball. Neither bear got hurt, but the bigger bear won the ball.

This reminds me of when I went to see a Mets versus Brave’s game at Citi Field. I went to Veteren’s Park to get the tickets and eat lunch. Then we went on a school bus to Citi Field. When we got there, we went to our seats. In the top of the 5th the Braves scored 4 runs. The Mets couldn’t comeback. On the way home we had gum and my mom fell asleep. That night we went to bed at 10 o’clock. We had a really fun time!

The story reminds me of when we went on a trip out west. It was a long plane ride and we had to change planes, just like Geronimo. I was excited to go on the trip but Geronimo was scared to go on the plane. Me and Geronimo both went on big adventures. I cant wait to see how the book ends.

It reminds me of when I camped out for Boy Scouts at the place I have camp. It seemed mysterious. We tried getting in the cabins. Some worked, some didn’t. The mystery was what was in the cabins. But we never got in all the cabins. It was similar in the book because there was a mystery. We went in the cabins. It smelled bad. Everything was covered with tarp.
The Magic Locket by Elizabeth Koda-Callan
The self-connection I have with this story is that just like the little girl in the story, I have a locket with a mirror. But my locket is sliver and her locket is gold. Also, she has a picture and a mirror but I just have a mirror. But we both have lockets shaped like a heart. 🙂

Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Last Straw.
My connection is I was at my house I had to get in the shower.But Shelbys friend came over so I had to run as fast as I could to get in.In the book Rodrick pushes Greg out the door and locks it.But I was fully not clothed and Greg was in his underwear.
October 14th,2010 #8 Karen”s Birthday.This story reminded me of when Karen wanted alot of things for her birthday and I wanted a hole bunch of things for my birthday. Then when it was her birthday she didn’t get alot of things for her birthday (neither did I)! She was still happy it was her birthday and so was I!
