The coronavirus pandemic has upended the ways libraries typically operate. The standard ways of doing things do not align with current public health guidance.  Please review the following guidelines and protocols regarding the use of the TZHS Library for the 2020-2021 school year.

This year, the library is being utilized as a classroom and is not open for all of its traditional uses.

However, you may still take advantage of the large, TZHS Library print book collection. You may borrow print books, but you may NOT take the books off the shelf! Use the OPALS catalogue to search for the book you are interested in. Please ask Mrs. Bradbury to locate the book for you. You can also request a book by emailing her, jbradbury@socsd.org or me, peyer@socsd.org or by requesting it through the OPALS catalogue.

All books MUST be returned in the “Book Drop” and will be quarantined for 6 days.

You may also access digital books using Sora. With Sora, you can access free ebooks and audiobooks when using your district login, @stu.socsd.org.

Use your personal device throughout the day.  Be sure to bring your device fully charged, as well as your charger to use during the day. The library will NOT have any devices or chargers available to borrow.

Do not come to the library with Chromebook issues. If you are having issues with your Chromebook, you must put in a service support ticket via the BOCES Student Help Desk. This is the link to access the page: https://lhric.service-now.com/student

The best defense against germs is prevention. Please use the disinfectant station at the entrance to your library when entering.

Consider your movements through the library. Please pay attention to the floor decals and clear signage, which define traffic routes and provide guidance as to where to sit and exit, in order to avoid “traffic jams” of students.
