Getting Started with E-Textiles

What a great start to an exciting project! We had so much fun working with the Advanced Sculpture class to practice sewing circuits in preparation for their light-up Mardi Gras masks.

Materials for today’s lesson included: conductive thread and sewing needles; coincell battery holders and batteries; Lilypad LEDs; and fabric.

Students got to see first-hand how electric currents flow by connecting the positive sides of a voltage source and a diode, and the negative sides.
