The title for this post sounds like a perfect picture book. It actually describes how happy I am being a teacher. Google put together a teacher appreciation video encouraging teacher work and looking forward to the future.
And now I encourage you to visit the moon on Google Earth. By selecting Moon from the top toolbar you can use the ‘Moon’ program. The feature offers tours of lunar landing sites, narrated by some of the Apollo astronauts who went there. You an also view 3D models of the spacecraft that have landed on the Moon as well as zooming in to see the footprints that astronaunts left on the surface. Post your experience!
Wow!! I love playing around with Google Earth but I never knew you could view the moon! I was playing with it for half an hour!!! It was cool how the spots where lots of humans/machines landed were all more detailed than the places where we haven’t landed. I also figured out that you could visit Mars too!!! 😀
Caleb, Your response is the best gift any teacher could receive. Knowing something I shared gave you the opportunity to learn something new made my night. Being an independent self-directed learner will bring you great success. Your comment will hopefully inspire others too.
I never knew that Google Earth could be so interesting. Every time I clicked on a square, I learned something new about our sister planet. How did the craters get there? Asteroids? Did you know that we know more about the moon than the ocean? Thank you for sharing the link.
That was an unbelievable experience! I love to play on google earth for hours on my iPad, but I never experienced the moon before! The best thing is how you can look at past astronaut’s footprints. I also enjoyed the Mars link and sky link! Thank you for putting on this extremely interesting website Mrs. McBride!
I thought exploring the moon was awesome! I loved seeing the historical maps. Once I zoomed in so far I didn’t know what I was looking at anymore.
