Pre-Concert Update

Hello SOMS Choir Parents, Guardians and Students,

It is an extremely exciting time in the SOMS music department! With the concert less than a week away, everyone is busy putting the finishing touches on all of our pieces. A few weeks ago, I sent home letters detailing the concert information. You can also find the letter attached to this post

I also wanted to include a gentle reminder that all chorus students have their Q2 Performance Test due this Sunday by 11:59pm. All students have received sheets detailing the assignment in class. In addition, the guidelines, accompaniment, and music have been uploaded on my google classroom, seesaw, and blog. To access these parts on my blog, go to the menu on the left and click “Q2 Performance Test”.

I am extremely proud of all the hard work the students done in order to prepare for the concerts and I hope to see you all at there!

Best,

Ms. Lynady

SOMS Choir Director

Hello! You can find all of the song accompaniments on the “Winter Concert Practice Parts” page. The lessons today will be performing Candle in the Night and This is Me. Have a great day, and have fun! I know you will since everyone in choir is awesome! To my students, please demonstrate your best behavior and respect for the substitute. How you conduct yourself when a substitute is here to help is a huge reflection of who you are both as a student and a person. Enjoy your half day!!!

The proceeds of this fundraiser go towards the spring trip this year. If you have any other questions, please go to the SOMS Music Thanksgiving Fundraiser page.

In addition the first quarter comes to a close on October 26th. Below is a checklist for the end of the quarter:

  • Make sure your handbook page has been signed and handed in to me.
  • Double check how many lessons you have.
    • If you are only in chorus you need 3 lessons.
    • If you are in two musical ensembles you need 2 lessons.
  • Submit your Mastery of Music Assignment by October 22nd on Seesaw
