Update

We completed two full weeks of Second Grade. The weeks flew by.

We have organized our supplies and our space in the classroom. We are still figuring out the best possible schedule of when to teach each subject. The students have fallen into a routine and are receiving compliments for positive behavior and being good citizens. Citizenship is our word of the month for our Character Education program. They would love to win the most popsicle sticks in the grade to be able to have lunch with Dr. Lee.

We have just introduced the rules for Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop. We have been reviewing addition and subtraction in Math. We will begin a unit on Measurement in Science. On Tuesday and Thursday we took the STAR Assessments in the mobile lab. The students have practiced a bus drill as well as fire drills. As for our Class Blog, I just received the passwords and will be sending them home this week. The class is also logged in to Raz Kids and I will send those passwords home as well.

If you haven’t sent in a smock for Art, please do so.

It is officially autumn and I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather.

I love to look at all the leaves changing colors and collect them with my daughters. What are some of your favorite fall activities?
