Hello!

Welcome to Room 66! This is going to be an interesting year with many new changes and expectations. I am so excited to learn along with you in this new way of schooling. Some days we will meet in person and some days we will meet on the computer. No matter how we learn together we will build our class community and take this adventure into second grade. Second grade is a lot like first grade but we move to the next level and use what you already know to build onto new things.

Take this next week to rest and relax with your families. Enjoy playing outside or inside and get ready for our school schedule. I will tell you all about it soon enough.

I can’t wait to hear what you have done in the past few months. I have spent time playing games with my family, taking classes to be prepared for our learning together, and reading in my backyard.

I cannot wait to see your smiling faces in school or on Zoom.

We hope that everyone is staying home and keeping busy!
We miss you!
Next week we will check in and schedule a meeting to meet as a class.
Hopefully you are all writing letters to your penpals. We were excited to receive some letters as well. We have already written back to whoever has sent us a letter.
We will also send out a new topic for the next letter.

The students built strong and sturdy houses that could not be blown down by the big bad wolf. Along the way they identified plane shapes and solid shapes with some mathematical vocabulary.
