All About Coach Rastelli

Coach Rastelli was born and raised in New City, NY. He attended Link Elementary School, Felix Festa Middle School and Clarkstown South High School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Health From Montclair State University in Clifton, NJ. Coach Rastelli was a three sport athlete in high school playing Soccer, Basketball and Baseball. He went on to start his collegiate Baseball career at Central Connecticut State University, but injuries derailed his experience (Tommy John Ligament Replacement Surgery). Coach decided to attend Montclair State to finish his studies, move closer to home and play baseball there.

After obtaining his life-long dream of becoming a teacher, coach went on to receive a Master’s degree from The City College of NY in Special Education. He also holds a District Level Certificate in Administration from Canisius College and one day hopes to pursue a career as an Athletic Director.

Coach has taught here in the district for 15 years and currently coaches the Boys JV basketball team at TZHS. He says his most rewarding experience is to have been given an opportunity to change a life as an educator/coach and he’ll forever be grateful to those who paved the way for him and to those who continue open themselves up to him.

Coach got married in November, 2011 and currently lives in New City, NY with his wife who also teaches 6th grade here in the district. They have 4 children (Christopher, Juliana, Nicholas and Matthew).
