Communities are Resilient

This month we celebrate resilience.

What does it mean to show resilience?

Resiliency is our ability to bounce back when something tough or hard happens. It means we are strong on the inside.

When we are resilient and bounce back we:

  • Set goals
  • Feel good about the future (we are optimistic)
  • Can identify our feelings and recognize feelings in others
  • Don’t let bad moments stop us from having good days
  • Use problem solving to reach our goals.

Check out our December Character Education Assembly hosted by Mrs. Bartell’s 2nd grade class:

Community Project: Students will draw or write on a feather how they will “bounce back” and be resilient when faced with a challenge! They can cut out the feather and use if they want to participate in Mrs. McBride’s & Mrs. Courtwright’s Monthly Challenge! Teachers will be giving out print outs of the feathers in school. If you want to print and work on your feather at home, click here.
