Advanced Placement Process

For all students entering the 7th or 8th grade for the 2023-24 school year and would like to tryout for a high school sport, they must go through the NYS program called the Advanced Placement Process or APP.

Please note the following important information and deadlines.

Email of interest to Athletic Director for APP accompanied by Coach recommendation deadline: August, 9th 2023

Online Registration for APP/Tanner Testing with SOMS Nurse: August 16, 2023

Physical Fitness Testing: August 16th 5 PM @ TZHS Track

*If a student went through the APP the previous year, they still have to register online for the APP, but do not have to go through the process again if they passed it the previous year.

*Passing the APP only assures a tryout, it does not mean they have made the team.

*If an APP student does not make a HS team, they are allowed to tryout for the modified team.
