TZHS students who are learning to become more fluent in English attended a two-week program designed to enhance their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. The instructional program was designed to support student’s English language acquisition through experiences which included field trip opportunities to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory Center in Piermont. Students enjoyed riding on ferry boats along the city skyline and taking in many of the city’s fine historic sights. They also had the opportunity to explore the Hudson River by seining, running water quality tests, and researching particular species of fish that live within our local community. Students thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Thank you to our teachers, Dana Stranges, Emily Schnapp, and Jacob Mancus for making this program such a wonderful experience for our kids!
