We had a successful Professional Development throughout the district and county. SOCSD hosted science with more than 100 teachers in attendance from across the county. Brian Newburger and Samantha Levine collaborated with Clarkstown to provide workshops on the New New York State Science Standards and how we implement the Starlab across the K-12 curriculum in SOCSD. Teachers were treated to modeled lessons facilitated by Brian and Samantha as well as other break out sessions on the flipped classroom and transition from Living Environment and Chemistry. We also had a round table for Physics.
