he new Robotics Club at Tappan Zee High School has been a huge success! The club has already met four times this year, boasting an attendance of more than 50 students. Students who come to the club are eager to learn and collaborate in initiating our FIRST Robotics Club (FRC). There is also a separate group of students who are discussing a multitude of important topics including sponsorships, team and travel costs, and most importantly fundraising ideas!
Recently, the Pascack Pioneers Robotics team came to visit us and along and brought their robot. Not only did they demonstrate their robot and how it worked, they also gave the students insight into the journey we have ahead of us including but not limited to fundraising, competitions, coding and building the robot, and expenses. Thank you so much!
We have developed a team name, a robot name, and are in the process of developing a team logo – Stay Tuned! We’re looking forward to our first big competition in the spring.
