Our ELA Leadership Team met and reviewed the Teacher’s College Reading and Writing Project learning progressions in narrative, informational, and persuasive/argumentative writing. We explored what everyone’s definition of the three genres of writing is and developed a greater understanding of the expectations for reading and writing at each grade level. Teachers also looked closely at the CCSS in ELA and the expectations at each grade level, particularly in grades 7-12. The future work of this team will include classroom visits or rounds to complete the cycle that we began last year.
