Halloween is a time to face our deepest fears, dress up like monsters, spend time with friends and family and write spooky Halloween Poems!

Onomatopoeia Poems use words that imitate or sound just like the source of the sound they describe. Examples of these words are jingle,creak, tick, roar, boom and slurp.

Write a free verse poem in which words are used to make sounds. Your poem can tell a little story, tell about an event, or describe a subject.  Decide which sounds to use and where the sounds will go in the poem. Move words around until the poem sounds just right!
