Day 4

  1. This week is Cohort B (L-Z) learning in building.    Reminder for Cohort B: If you are remote learning, please be sure to email your study hall teacher and PE teachers so they can mark you as Present. If you do not email them within the class period, you will be marked Absent.
  2. Daily COVID-19 Screening Form
      • The Daily COVID-19 screening form should be completed in PowerSchool BEFORE your child arrives at school.
      • The form must be completed every day that your child is expected to attend school in person (either week A or week B).  If your child will not be coming to school during their expected week, check NO for the first question and email tzhsattendance@socsd.org to excuse their absence or notify us if your child is working remotely.
      • If you are having a problem accessing the PowerSchool Portal/Form please be sure to email:  portal@socsd.org 
  3. Virtual College Meetings – Visit the TZHS Counseling page for links.

  4. Seniors –  Cap and gown orders are now past due, they were due on October 16.   Use this link to order; https://forms.gle/J7vJET6tHVJHcCmYA from YOUR school Google account.  Please drop off your $70 check payable to Tappan Zee High School with the senior’s name in the memo to room 411 immediately.  The bank will not accept checks payable to TZHS!
  5. GSA Club – GSA will be meeting Tuesday, October 27 at 4:30 pm on Zoom.  Students will receive announcements and the Zoom link for meetings.  Google Classroom code is 2wb2bve
  6. Yearbook Club – There is a Yearbook Club Meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 on Zoom.  All are welcome, we need everyone’s help to make the yearbook this year!  Email or see Ms. LaBrake with questions.  
  7. Spanish Club – Spanish Club will meet Wednesday, October 28 at 3:30.  Please see Google Classroom for link
  8. Science Olympiad – The Science Olympiad Team will be meeting online on Thursday Oct 29th at 7pm. The zoom link is in Google classroom.  We will be signing up for events.  New members can join the team using Google Classroom using the join code oywsvgi   at      https://classroom.google.com/c/MTYzNzA3MzI0MDIw?cjc=oywsvgi
  9. Yoga Club – There will be a Yoga Club Meeting on Thursday, October 29 on Zoom.  We will be doing Meditation.  All are welcome, email or see Ms. LaBrake with questions
  10. Science Honor Society  – Science Honor Society is underway. Returning and prospective members are welcome. Please join the Google Classroom for application and meeting information. The code is obgtnbf

  14. Counseling Dept – Dr. Burns and Dr. Hercman will be facilitating an ongoing weekly group every Day 6, Period 4. Come to listen, talk, and learn strategies to manage stress: Stress Management Group. Please email Dr. Burns (kburns@socsd.org) or Dr. Hercman (bhercman@socsd.org) if you are interested in joining and we will share updates, the location and zoom links with you. If want to join, but have class that period, please send us an email for alternative options.
  15. Chromebook Issues – If you are having issues with your Chromebook, you must put in a service support ticket via the BOCES Student Help Desk. The link to access the page:  https://lhric.service-now.com/student
  16. Yearbooks – are for sale and can be ordered by going to YEAR BOOK ORDER CENTER . com with code 4308,  If you would like last year’s yearbook please email Ms. Labrake.
  17. Advanced Placement Courses (AP)  –  AP Exam registration/Payment October 30 – November 10, 2020.  AP Exam Registration ends November 10, 2020.  AP Exam LATE Registration is March 5-10, 2021.   
  18. Portraits  –
    •  NOTE:   Underclassmen can log into the website lorsstudio.com, click undergrad prepay and code 21-24TZ. Seniors should have recieved their paperwork in the mail with their username and password, ** if their paperwork was not received check google classroom to see where you can pick up your information when in school.
      • Retakes will be:
          • 11/5 underclassmen
          • 11/9 underclassmen
      • Senior Portraits will be:
          • 11/4 and 11/6 from the start of school until 4pm 
          • **Seniors will be scheduling themselves for their time slots**.  
      • Retakes will be:
          • 11/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group B SOCSD students and Group 1 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
          • 12/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group A SOCSD students and Group 2 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
