Day 1

  1. This week is Cohort A (A-K) learning in building.    Reminder for Cohort A: If you are remote learning, please be sure to email your study hall teacher and PE teachers so they can mark you as Present. If you do not email them within the class period, you will be marked Absent.
  2. Daily COVID-19 Screening Form
      • The Daily COVID-19 screening form should be completed in PowerSchool BEFORE your child arrives at school.
      • The form must be completed every day that your child is expected to attend school in person (either week A or week B).  If your child will not be coming to school during their expected week, check NO for the first question and email tzhsattendance@socsd.org to excuse their absence or notify us if your child is working remotely.
      • If you are having a problem accessing the PowerSchool Portal/Form please be sure to email:  portal@socsd.org 
  3. Virtual College Meetings – Visit the TZHS Counseling page for links.

      • Thursday, October 22, 5:00 pm – Rider University
  4. Chess Club – The first meeting of the Chess Club will be Thursday, October 22, at 3:30 on Zoom.  The link will be provided in the Chess Club Google Classroom prior to 3:30.  You can join the Chess Club Google Classroom with join code 6d5kdtu, or directly from the in the TZHS Club brochure.  All Students are invited, all levels of play.  Never Played? We will teach you!  Can we “Rook” you into playing?   “Check” us out and have some fun!
  5. Film Club – The next Film Club meeting will take place, Friday October 23 at 3:45 on Zoom.  Please join using the access code found on the club’s Google Classroom page.  Officer elections will be held and our Halloween meeting will be discussed.
  6. GSA Club – GSA will be meeting October 27 at 4:30 pm on Zoom.  Students will receive announcements and the Zoom link for meetings.  Google Classroom code is 2wb2bve
  7. Yearbook Club – There is a Yearbook Club Meeting on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 on Zoom.  All are welcome, we need everyone’s help to make the yearbook this year!  Email or see Ms. LaBrake with questions.
  8. Yoga Club – There will be a Yoga Club Meeting on Thursday, October 29 on Zoom.  We will be doing Meditation.  All are welcome, email or see Ms. LaBrake with questions

  10. Class of 2024 –  please be sure to join our google classroom page. We will be posting information about the upcoming Student Officer Elections. The Google Classroom code is: vswaq44

  12. Counseling Dept – Dr. Burns and Dr. Hercman will be facilitating an ongoing weekly group every Day 6, Period 4. Come to listen, talk, and learn strategies to manage stress: Stress Management Group. Please email Dr. Burns (kburns@socsd.org) or Dr. Hercman (bhercman@socsd.org) if you are interested in joining and we will share updates, the location and zoom links with you. If want to join, but have class that period, please send us an email for alternative options.
  13. Chromebook Issues – If you are having issues with your Chromebook, you must put in a service support ticket via the BOCES Student Help Desk. The link to access the page:  https://lhric.service-now.com/student
  14. Yearbooks – are for sale and can be ordered by going to YEAR BOOK ORDER CENTER . com with code 4308,  If you would like last year’s yearbook please email Ms. Labrake.
  15. Advanced Placement Courses (AP)  –  AP Exam registration/Payment October 30 – November 10, 2020.  AP Exam Registration ends November 10, 2020.  AP Exam LATE Registration is March 5-10, 2021.   
  16. Portraits  –
    •  NOTE:   Underclassmen can log into the website lorsstudio.com, click undergrad prepay and code 21-24TZ. Seniors should have recieved their paperwork in the mail with their username and password, ** if their paperwork was not received check google classroom to see where you can pick up your information when in school.
      • Underclassmen will go with their social studies teachers, seniors schedule their own portraits.
      • Rescheduled dates are now October 19th, and 23rd for those who should have gone on the earlier cancelled dates (September 24-25)
      • Retakes will be:
          • 11/5 underclassmen
          • 11/9 underclassmen
      • Senior Portraits will be:
          • 11/4 and 11/6 from the start of school until 4pm 
          • **Seniors will be scheduling themselves for their time slots**.  
      • Retakes will be:
          • 11/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group B SOCSD students and Group 1 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
          • 12/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group A SOCSD students and Group 2 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
          • **Seniors will be scheduling themselves for their time slots**
