TZHS Announcements

Day 1

• Daily Screening – Please make sure your Daily Screening Form is filled out on PowerSchool prior to arriving at building.  If it your student’s week to work in building, but is not coming in, please MARK NO at first question  If you are having a problem accessing the PowerSchool Portal please be sure to open a support ticket via the following email address:  portal@socsd.org
• Yearbooks – If you would still like to purchase a copy of last years book, email or see Ms. LaBrake.  If you ordered a book, but never picked it p, you can get your book at security at the main entrance
• Parents/Guardians of 100 Percent Remote Students:  We are holding another book pick up on Friday, October 2nd from 8:00am-4:00pm.  Please have your child check with their teachers to see if they need to pick up books and/or supplies. Pick up will be in the front of the building at the far entrance of TZHS (near the 400 Hall). There will be a sign on the door.

• TZ United – All students interested in joining TZ United… Please join the Google Classroom with the code 7mo3ss4 …please join whether you are a returning or new member!!
• Art Clubs – Come join one or more of the fantastic, fun art clubs. Check out the chalkboard display in the 700’s hallway for Clubs and google classroom codes!
• Leo Club – next  meeting is on Monday, October 5th. Bring a friend to the next meeting to earn an hour of community service. Join the LEO Club Remind with code: tzleo. ZOOM Meeting link will push out in the Remind App
• Interact – Interested in giving back to the community? Join Interact! There will be an Interact Club meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 5 pm on Zoom. All are welcome! Join the Google classroom with the code: 72bp25y and join the Remind section with the code: @tzinteract. Contact Mrs. Feygin if you have any questions.
• English Honor Society –  meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 4pm for any new and interested members. Please email Ms. McMane for the Zoom link. You must be a junior or senior to apply. 
• Yearbook – There will be a yearbook meeting Tuesday, October 6 at 4 pm on Zoom.  Join the Google classroom 2yuinzm.  All are Welcome!
• Robotics – There will be a Robotics Team Meeting on Tuesday, Ocotber 6 at 4 pm on Zoom. Link can be found in the Robotics Google Class room.
• VAASA – All juniors and seniors interested in joining VAASA (Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse), please join the Google Classroom with the code f6y3qk for Zoom information regarding our first meeting on Wednesday, October 7 at 3:30pm

• Mu Alpha Theta – MUUUUU – the next meeting for students who were members LAST YEAR will be held on Friday, October 9 at 3:30 pm on ZOOM.  Candidates for offices will speak briefly on their qualifications.  The meeting link will be posted next week in the MU Google Classroom
• History Honor Society – Any junior or senior wishing to apply or re-apply for membership in the History Honor Society must complete a virtual application that can be found on Mr. Robertson’s website under the HHS tab. Virtual applications will be accepted through Friday, October 9.
• Science Olympiad –   is ready to begin. Students can use this Invite link to join  the club, https://classroom.google.com/c/MTYzNzA3MzI0MDIw?cjc=oywsvgi . Mr.Adler and Mr. Francesco are  the coaches. New members are welcome
• Chromebook Issues – If you are having issues with your Chromebook, you must put in a service support ticket via the BOCES Student Help Desk. The link to access the page:  https://lhric.service-now.com/student
• Advanced Placement Courses (AP)  –  AP Exam registration/Payment October 30 – November 10, 2020.  AP Exam Registration ends November 10, 2020.  AP Exam LATE Registration is March 5-10, 2021.   
• Portraits  –  NOTE:   Lors Photography’s site may still be down. Students can still be photographed, and the orders can be placed later.  Underclassmen can log into the website. Seniors can call 908-964-0847 To schedule over the phone if their paperwork was not received and Passwords and ordering information is being sent home for those who have not received from the company
  • Underclassmen will go with their social studies teachers, seniors schedule their own portraits. All dates will be in the wrestling room. 
  • Retakes will be:
    • • 11/5 for Group A for SOCSD and Group 2 for BOCES
      • 11/9 for Group B for SOCSD and Group 1 for BOCES
  • Senior Portraits will be:
    • • 11/4 and 11/6 from the start of school until 4pm for Group A for SOCSD and Group 2 for BOCES
      • **Seniors will be scheduling themselves for their time slots**.  
  • Retakes will be:
    • • 11/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group B SOCSD students and Group 1 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
      • 12/10 from the start of school until 4pm for Group A SOCSD students and Group 2 BOCES that need a retake or a shoot
      • **Seniors will be scheduling themselves for their time slots**
