SOMS Announcements

Cycle Day 1

Attention all students:  If the temperature is between 21 and 45 degrees you MUST have a minimum of either a sweatshirt or fleece jacket to go outside for recess.  If the temperature drops below 21 degrees, there will be no outdoor recess.  Please remember to bring your jacket to recess if you want to go outside

Any 7th grade student who missed the presentation on how to apply to take either the Studio Art or DDP class next year as an 8th grade student should see a Tech or Art teacher for information and a application/take home test. Students who are interested in both classes can apply to join both and decide later which one to take if they are accepted into both. All completed applications are due on or before March 1st.

Have a team you want to win the Superbowl? Vote for them by bringing in a can of food and dropping it in the box in front of the main office with that team’s name on it. At the end of the day Friday, we will announce the team that got the most votes. All donated items will go to a food pantry. We also encourage all students and staff to show their Superbowl Spirit by wearing a sports jersey of any type, on Friday.

The Spanish Club is selling Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Snakes during 6th, 7th, and 8th grade lunch at our sales table outside of the cafeteria. It is that time of year again! SOMS is looking for a talented 6th or 7th grade student to design the cover of next year’s Agenda Book! We are inviting students to be creative and illustrate the theme of friendship (be kind). This theme was selected by our Student Council members. All entries need to be submitted to the main office by Friday, February 17. Have a great experience illustrating this theme!
