Lego WeDo-Dancing Birds

First graders, the wait is finally over!  Over the next few weeks, we will begin building and programming two different Lego robot models.  Our first build is going to be DANCING BIRDS!

We have a total of 11 kits for all of the first graders to share.  Students in each class will have a partner to collaborate with.  When we are in the building stage, partners alternate between being the parts person (the person who collects that step’s Lego pieces) and the builder (the person who assembles them by following the model’s directions).  Each person has 2 turns with their job before swapping.  A good partner pays attention to what the other person’s role as a means of quality control.  It’s better to find and fix a mistake sooner than later!
