After a two year break, it was nice to get back into the swing of things with a Halloween celebration. Everyone came to school wearing their costumes.

All of the first grade teachers were dressed as Waldo from the Where's Waldo book series.  Can you find us?

We made Halloween bookmarks at our tables.

There were lots of parents and siblings around to help out.

Then we read our second Gilbert book of the year, Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet and had a quick Halloween snack.

We sang to the birthday girl (though we are celebrating her birthday tomorrow).

We took some class pictures.

Before we knew it, it was time for the parade!

We saw some familiar faces along the way.

After the parade had ended, we came back to the classroom and changed out of our costumes.  We worked on some Halloween coloring pictures.  Then we continued working on the Halloween math centers.

We ended the afternoon with independent reading.  Before we knew it, we were packing up and heading to lunch!  What a fun (and pretty sugar-free) day!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

PS-Thank you to Sarina's mom for snapping a bunch of the photos during today's party!
