The word of the month is courage.  Courage means to be brave even when you're afraid.  We read the story Wemberly Worried.  Wemberly is afraid of lots of things until she meets a friend named Jewel.

We talked about different times and places where we might need to show courage:

  • Riding a two-wheeler
  • On the first day of school
  • Doing new things for the first time
  • Going on a roller coaster
  • Telling the truth–especially when you know you did something wrong
  • Going on the monkey bars
  • Being worried
  • Feeling nervous
  • Making mistakes
  • Standing up to someone who is being mean to you (or to others)
