Today is February 2nd, also known as Groundhog Day!  We shared our schema about groundhogs, read the story The Substitute Groundhog, and then researched a little bit about the animals.  This morning, at 7:30 a.m., Punxsutawney Phil (the world's most famous prognosticating rodent) emerged from his home on Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  Folklore says that if Phil sees his shadow, we will have six more weeks of winter.  If he does not see his shadow, we will have an early spring.
