Enrichment at WOS
Welcome to the Enrichment Program at WOS!
Students in first and second grade participate in a variety of whole class enrichment lessons to encourage creativity, reflection, and critical thinking. Various challenges enhance the curriculum by integrating and extending content areas such as math, social studies, technology, and current events. Example units include the Design Engineering Process, The Dig: Being an Archaeologist, Perspective & Diversity, Divergent Thinking Games, Enrichment Olympics, and more.
In addition, the Monthly Challenge promotes creative thinking across the school. All K-2 students are encouraged to participate! Studies show that we can all get better at creative thinking with opportunities and encouragement. According to The World Economic Forum, these are the top three job skills needed for 2020 and beyond:
1. complex problem solving
2. critical thinking
3. creativity

The Monthly Challenge is a fun way to begin developing these important skills.
