Last summer, we held our 5th Annual STEAM Camp in an all virtual format. More than 220 students participated using supplies and materials that were delivered to students homes. Despite being stuck at home, students and families had a wonderful experience doing hand-on activities, while messing up their kitchens, venturing outside to conduct experiments or scavenger hunts, or building creations out of house hold stuff that in some cases were so beautiful they couldn’t be taken down! This year, we had planned for an all-remote camp once again. We had more than 220 families register in grades K-8, even though it was going to be all virtual. Then, right around the time we were beginning to see Covid cases fall, and more students returning to in-person learning, we realized that we were able to have STEAM Camp 100% in-person at TZHS. Students and families were thrilled to hear this news!
Today, we kicked off our 6th Annual SOCSD STEAM Camp and it was awesome! Students in grades K-8 came into TZHS excited and enthusiastic to meet old and new friends and to learn new things! Many have attended STEAM Camp before and look forward to a stress and test free experience, small camp size groups of 10-12 kids, and a really fun time! We are so grateful to be back, live and in-p
