Directions: Take a few moments to observe the picture above. This is a primary source document from the Seneca Falls Convention. After viewing the illustration respond to the prompts on the blog.
1. What do you notice about most of the men in this illustration? Be specific and state as much as you can.
2. How are women portrayed (shown) in this political cartoon?
The men looks like there yelling at the woman and pointing and waving there hats at her and mabye look like they do not like what she is syaing and for the girls its look like they look happy for what she is saying and there wering dresses and the women in the middle is talking for the women and the men dont like it 😀
1) I notice that the men are yelling at the women because men thought that women had no right to be there.
2) The women are shown as if some of them are yelling back and the others seem upset because women had no rights back then.
Some of the men aren't taking the women seriously.
1. I noticed that the men on the top row are yelling at the women while they are making a speech about womens rights.
2. The women are shown not making a big deal about the men yelling at them.
I noticed the men seem to be shouting at the lady, maybe they don't feel they are important enough to speak or to even be there. The women seem almost still, I think they are trying to ignore the fact that the men are yelling at them.
I noticed that they held some sort of meeting our argument because it looks like the woman in the center has been giving a speech but it looks like the men weren't to happy about what the woman was saying. The women in the cartoon look like they were living in the 1800 or 1850 something like that because they were wearing fancy old big puffed up dresses.
1. Half of the men were yelling and the other half were not paying attention. I even saw one man sound asleep.
2. I noticed the women were mostly paying attention. The woman orator looks composed even though some of the men looked like they were yelling.
