Reading Log Response

This is the project that goes with your reading log this week.  You can do it any time before next Monday!

Post a comment telling the title and author of your book (don’t forget your capital letters.)  In 50 words or more, tell us a text-self connection you had to your book.  What did the story remind you of?  How is what happened to you like what happened in the story?  How is it different?

  1. Title: The Relatives Came
    Author: Cynthia Rylant

This story reminds me of going to my grandmother’s house in Pennsylvania when I was little. Sometimes all my aunts, uncles, and cousins were there, too, so there weren’t enough beds. We all crowded into the porch on cots and sleeping bags, just like the cousins in the story. The kids would stay up late talking and giggling. It was a fun and happy time.

  2. Title: Shortcut

    Author: Ron Roy
This story reminded me when I was always late for the bus last and this year. I thought it was funny, but my mom didn't. She would always say," Oh, no. Now I have to drive you to school, sweetie."  I don't know why I would burst out laughing in my mad science laugh. It was funny.

  4. Title:  Because of Winn Dixie
    Author :Kate DiCamillo
The story made me think of when I moved into my new house in Blauvelt. I wanted a dog really bad.  I begged my dad for a dog but he said NO. In the story Opal found a dog in the grocery store and then she begged her dad to keep him and he said NO. Opal's dad finally said yes, but I still don't have one at my dad's house.

Mr. Fox makes up really good plans, they are really smart.  One smart plan was when the foxes were starving, he made a plan to dig a hole to the farm to get food.  Mr. Fox reminds me of my friend Jordan who also makes up really smart games for us to play.  Last time we played together we made up a kicking game with a regular playground ball.It was fun.
