Tuesday

Hi, guys!  I missed you today, but I was doing some great work on our planet research project.  While I was at William O'Schaefer, I talked with Dr. Mitchell, and he told me something I hadn't heard about the newest exoplanet, which is called Gliese 581g.  As you remember, an exoplanet is a planet outside our solar system.

What I didn't know is that scientists are calling Gliese 581g a "Goldilocks planet."  Think about it.  What do you think that means?

  1. I think it means that the planet is either the color gold or has real gold on it. I think the i means they found one “alien.”And the “locks” meaning that spacemen found locks on the planet.

  2. I think that they used robots to find something new on the exoplanet thats like gold .Maybe it has a lot of gravity so it makes the planet gold. For example when you put pressure on something it turns a different color.so what is it?

  3. Great thinking! I’ll give you a hint: Will is on the right track. So what would that have to do with Goldilocks? Think about the story.

  4. I think it means that it is not too hot or not too cold, it is just right. So maybe it’s just right for life?

  5. Sean, that’s exactly right! They say the planet is “just right” for life. It’s more like Earth than any other planet they’ve found.

Great thinking, everyone! That’s worth a letter!
