Congratulations to Tappan Zee High School sophomore Eujin “Kate” Lee for winning the 2018 NJ Senate Citation Gold Prize at the Union City Peace and Hope Art Competition! The two works she had submitted for the competition were displayed at the Riverside Gallery in Hackensack, NJ this month as part the 9th Annual Computer Graphics Art Exhibition. Kate was one of just 14 student artists featured. New Jersey State Assemblyman Gordon M. Johnson delivered the keynote address at the gallery ceremony and presented the artists with certificates of commendation. The competition provided high school art students across the Tri-State area with an opportunity to express what “peace and hope” means to them. In addition, the global theme of the competition explored the historical events of the Korean War as part of the celebration commemorating National Liberation Day of Korea.
