Virtual High School
Imagine classrooms without walls, where students are able to attend their classes 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Imagine students working cooperatively online with students from a wide variety of ethnicities, backgrounds, and geographical locations. Virtual High School (VHS) courses enable students to share their thoughts with students and educators around the world in an online learning environment. This learning environment calls for a great deal of student responsibility, motivation, and discipline and will be open to students in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Interested in taking a Virtual High School class? Tappan Zee High School will offer VHS online courses to any student interested in learning in a non-traditional classroom setting. Students will exchange information and participate in group discussions with their classmates and teacher through an online discussion forum. Courses are asynchronous – students can join discussions and work on assignments at any time convenient to them. View the VHS course list here.
NOTE: Courses offered at Tappan Zee High school cannot be taken through Virtual High School. Registration opens early May with fall classes starting early September and spring classes starting late January.
